• Bookmarks: 4

Magomed Ankalaev is set to come face-to-face with fellow light-heavyweight contender Johnny Walker for a second time at UFC Fight Night 234 later this month.

The duo first clashed in late 2023, but the bout was ruled a no-contest at UFC 294.

The fight came to an end when Ankalaev took his opponent down to the floor but cracked Walker in the head with an illegal knee.

The referee stepped in and gave Walker chance to recover, but the bout was called off, with the Brazilian not deemed able to continue.

Things then nearly exploded as both fighters had to be kept away from each other in the ring, with Dana White’s intervention the only thing stopping it all from kicking off.

But the pair will meet in the ring again to settle this UFC bout once and for all.

UFC Fight Night: Ankalaev vs Walker 2: What has been said?

Speaking in the immediate aftermath of the first bout, Walker revealed his fury.

He said: “I’m going to catch him again, God willing, as soon as possible.

“We’ve been negotiating to see if I can return and rematch him. I’m sure I’m going to send that guy to the moon.

“There will be no talking with that guy. I’m going to mess him up, I’m going to tear through him and erase him from history, because he’s a dirty guy. I’m going to mess him up good.

“I’m p***** off.

“He hit me with an illegal knee. He should have been disqualified. I’m going to catch him. I’m going all out, no question about it. He has already seen the kind of animal I am.”
