‘Shut up and get in’ – Jamie Carragher rages at Antony after Manchester United are humiliated at Crystal Palace

Jamie Carragher was left fuming at Antony’s conduct following Manchester United’s humiliating 4-0 defeat at Crystal Palace.

Erik ten Hag’s men suffered a Selhurst Park hiding in what has been labelled as an ‘atrocious’ display by talkSPORT’s Danny Murphy.

Their performance has received widespread criticism, however, it was what Antony did after the full-time whistle that left Liverpool legend Carragher incensed.

As Antony walked off the pitch, he was seen speaking to teammate’s Mason Mount and Andre Onana with his hand over his mouth – and it didn’t sit right with Carragher.

“Just get off the pitch! Whispering behind your hand, you’ve been absolutely awful,” Carragher said on Antony.

“He’s probably talking about one of the players or somebody else, or the set-up, or the manager, just get off the pitch.

“Shut up and get in. You’ve been beaten 4-0, whispering, talking – honestly, embarrassing.”

Antony started the game for the Red Devils but was substituted on the hour having been ineffective throughout.

Carragher wasn’t the only one to condemn Antony on Monday night with Murphy saying on commentary for talkSPORT when the former Ajax man was substituted: “I praise Ten Hag for that…

“His [Antony’s] attitude – moaning at everybody… well done Ten Hag. You may be losing but you don’t throw your arms in the air at your teammates.”

It was a lifeless outing from a Man United perspective across the board though with Palace running rings around them.

Michael Olise put the home side in front on 12 minutes before Jean-Phillipe Mateta’s powerful left-footed effort made it 2-0 just before half time.

Tyrick Mitchell’s close-range effort put Palace 3-0 up before Olise’s piledriver sealed an embarrassing night for Man United.
