WWE News: Fan-Favorite Wrestlers Could Return After Stint in AEW, Report

Currently, there are countless former WWE Superstars who find themselves spread across countless promotions like All Elite Wrestling (AEW), Total Non-stop Action Wrestling (TNA), and New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW).

This includes Matt and Jeff Hardy, known together as the Hardy Boyz.

One of the most popular tag teams of all time, the Hardy Boyz won nine tag team titles in WWE and are beloved for their matches against Edge & Christian and the Dudley Boys.

Additionally, both brothers had massive singles success, including Matt winning the ECW Championship and Jeff Hardy winning the WWE Championship.

After spending some time with AEW, Matt and Jeff now find themselves in TNA, where they have a history of success.

However, it looks like they could find themselves back in WWE soon.

In a recent episode of ‘The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy,’ Matt Hardy revealed that, while they’re happy with how things are in TNA, there is still a chance he and his brother Jeff could return to AEW or WWE.

“We’re both very, very happy,” Matt said. “We’re extremely happy with how TNA is going right now, and we’re going to be continuing this for a while. We just actually talked about some creative stuff going through the end of this year right now. So that’s very exciting. We dig what we have.”

“As far as going to WWE or going to AEW, I mean, it’s a ‘never say never’ scenario. In my world, in the extreme life of Matt Hardy, it’s never say never. You never rule anything out. You never close any doors on anything. You just do your best, you keep your chin up, you keep moving forward, and you try and speak as honestly and as transparently as possible.”

Matt then revealed that reconnecting with WWE is a bit more likely.

“So it’s one of those things, if we ended up back at AEW to do something, yeah, we wouldn’t be opposed to that, especially if it’s something that sounded really, really good, that we were very intrigued by,” Matt continued. “Then, once again, with WWE, there’s still been some ongoing conversations with WWE. So yeah, I mean, anything can happen in the extreme life of Matt Hardy.”

What’s particularly exciting about this is that, given WWE’s current relationship with TNA, it’s likely that one or both brothers could make their return in the Royal Rumble or put over a young tag team.
