• Bookmarks: 10

Welcome to the latest edition of the Giant Bomb Community Spotlight! I, @zombiepie, am once again honored to be your host as we look back at the site-related news and best community creations from the previous week.

Summer is coming to a slow but eventual end. With that, I offer you one final reminder to pick up the Summer 2024 merch! Also, here’s a direct link to the 16th anniversary t-shirt design in case anyone reading this still is interested in picking up a shirt.

A new report is coming up that podcasts that should be “free,” especially ones that are older podcasts, are suddenly in the premium only feed. If this bug or issue is impacting you, please use the link to report the problem and @turboshawn will investigate it at the start of the week.

If you are still having a problem connecting your premium subscription to the Giant Bomb Store, please send an email to [email protected]. @dtoast has found a solution and can rectify the problem rather quickly.

If you missed watching him cook, here’s the VOD where Jan tested out streaming on his phone. But, be aware that because he has music in the background almost half of the stream got muted. Nonetheless, give it a follow if you don’t want to miss what they have in store for the future.

MinnMax continues to do amazing work archiving the history and importance of Game Informer magazine and recently shared an unaired interview Dan did with Hideo Kojima! If you ever wanted to see Dan in complete awe, give this video a watch!

Also, let’s give Tom Caswell a huge “Thank You” for being the one editing and posting all of these 16th Anniversary videos. In case you missed it, this week saw Niki Grayson, Alex Navarro, and Mike Minotti share their favorite Giant Bomb moments. And don’t forget to check out the front page to view the anniversary videos all in one convenient place.

Epic CEO Tim Sweeney Admits That Free Games Are STILL The Primary Reason People Use The Epic Games Store (By: @zombiepie)

When was the last time you bought a full-priced game on Epic? When was the last time you bought a full-priced game on Epic?
When was the last time you bought a full-priced game on Epic?

While Tim Sweeney ranted about Apple barely meeting its court order to allow the Epic Games Store on iOS, he also admitted that exclusivity deals have been less effective about getting people to log into their EGS accounts than giving people free games. Is that a cause for concern?

Is this the worst game Nintendo proper has ever made? Is this the worst game Nintendo proper has ever made?
Is this the worst game Nintendo proper has ever made?

@pauljeremiah thinks Singularity a buried treasure from the 360/PS3 era. Read why they can’t help but enjoy this long-forgotten FPS on their review for the game! Remember when Raven wasn’t just doing Call of Duty maps?

@sbc515 can’t help but wonder if Urban Champion is one of the worst Nintendo internal video games ever made even if you accept the game as a historically important work for the console and fighting game genre.

@sbc515 also reviewed Destroy All Humans! on the PS2 and despite some terrible load times on the original hardware, it sounds like they had an absolute blast of a time playing the game.
