The outdoor clothing brand behind some of our favorite pieces is currently up to 40 percent off during REI’s September sale, and we combed through the sale section to find the best deals.

We have to start with the Nano Puff Jacket being less than $200 right now. Our editors tested the lightweight, packable outerwear and were thoroughly impressed by its versatility. The overall design has an outdoorsy look that’s easy to pair with hiking pants and boots, or even with jeans and a tee. Plus, if you’re planning to travel with it, it’s incredibly easy to pack into itself, taking up very little room in a duffel or suitcase.
A couple colorways of the 25L Black Hole Pack, another favorite among our editors, are also on sale. In our testing, it’s the best rugged backpack thanks to a highly weather-resistant TPU laminate which keeps moisture from getting in. So while it’s certainly perfect for hikes or camping, it’s just at home commuting with a padded 15-inch laptop sleeve.
