Milan Fashion Week’s Spring/Summer 2025 Runways Were Filled With These 7 Trends

Allora…Milan Fashion Week has come to a close, but it didn’t come without its noteworthy moments—and, more importantly, its fashion trends. Yes, you saw fringe and themes of Americana in New York and breathtaking, voluminous bubble hems in London, but it seems that the Italians always have a way with the trends—and my money’s down that you’re going to see these everywhere (and I mean everywhere). After all, this is home to Prada and Fendi—as well as Bottega Veneta and Gucci, so you know these won’t miss.

So, without further ado, see the best Milan Fashion Week spring/summer 2025 fashion trends that our team can’t stop thinking about.

Flapper 2.0

Fendi kicked off Milan Fashion Week with a nod to the Roaring Twenties, inspired by the house’s origins in 1925. Throughout the week, the flapper turned out to be a popular muse for designers. There were beaded and fringe tops and dresses at Sportmax and Emporio Armani, while the design team at Tom Ford paid tribute to the Jazz Age archetype with silk cording in an array of pastels.

Mirror Mirror

Silver reflective paillettes and highly polished leather at Prada were just a few of the interesting combinations that Miuccia Prada and Raf Simmons put together this season. Mirrored pieces were all over the Milan runways, and they are sure to add sparkle to your wardrobe this coming spring.

’90s Slip Dresses

The slip dress is a simple silhouette that instantly calls to mind Courtney Love and the grunge trend from the ’90s. Milan Fashion Week saw plenty of iterations in a range of sheer colors, complete with lingerie peeking out from underneath.

Birds of a Feather

These delicate, light, and airy pieces will leave you pining for spring to arrive. Through different techniques, these designers have achieved the lifelike movement of natural feathers. From the leather at Bottega Veneta to the linen and banana leaf fabrication at Loro Piana, each look is truly a work of art.

In the Trenches

If you have been thinking of updating your closet with a new trench coat, this is the season to take the plunge. We saw trenches on almost every runway in Milan this week, and with such a variety of colors, lengths, and textures, there is definitely something for everybody.

Scarf Dressing

Silk scarf prints floated down the runways looking fresh and flirty. There were heritage prints at Ferragamo, bias-cut sheer silk at Fendi and bright floral and striped versions at Bottega Veneta.

Pistachio

Pistachio is a color many associate with Milan. Just take a look down any of the narrow streets or peek into the entryways of the buildings and you will notice this particular hue of green. Perhaps this environment is what inspired these brands to make it the color of the season.
