Tell that to Katie Holmes, who took her usual New York City stroll on September 23 in this fall’s designated It Girl uniform, which looks remarkably similar to every ‘90s suburban mom’s fall uniform. The look consists of a barn jacket (sometimes called a chore coat), jeans, sneakers, and a monogrammed canvas tote from Lands’ End.

Holmes’s green quilted jacket is an upscale version from Marfa Stance, which she accessorized with the brand’s fuchsia shearling collar. The classic Lands’ End bag has red accents, with a red “KH” monogram on the front.
