A dog who felt her pregnant owner’s baby kicking for the first time has melted hearts online.
The short clip, shared by mom-to-be Cassie Woodall, shows Labrador, Darla, resting her head on her owner’s pregnant belly.
A sleepy Darla then seems to be startled by a motion coming from Woodall’s stomach, causing her eyes to widen and ears to prick up.

Woodall, 26 weeks pregnant in the video, told Newsweek about the special bond forming between her and Darla during her pregnancy.
“Darla has recently started resting her head on my tummy and being a lot gentler and cuddlier,” Woodall, who currently lives in St. Helens, a town in northwest England, said.
“This was the first time she felt the baby move,” the expectant mom added.
The clip, which has clocked up 1 million views since it was posted on July 29, captures Darla’s real-time reaction to feeling the tiny kick from her owner’s belly.
“I couldn’t believe I caught this on camera,” Woodall’s text overlay read.
Hundreds of social media users poured in the comments section with their reactions.
“Those eyes, full of kindness and love,” one viewer commented, while another wrote: “[T]hat face says ‘that’s the baby, mom.'”
Others pointed out the temperament of Labrador dogs. They’re typically known for their friendly and playful natures, making them popular family pets, especially with young children and babies.
One TikTok user who commented that she was 37 weeks pregnant shared that her dogs are none the wiser to her changing shape.
Original poster Woodall replied that her dogs (she also has a sausage dog) “took a while” to take any notice.
“I’m 28 weeks now and my lab definitely knows, not sure my sausage dog does,” she added.
Woodall told Newsweek how she felt about Darla’s reaction to her baby kicking: “I was just amazed at how sweet her reaction was. Now I can’t wait for her to meet the baby.”
Moms who watched the TikTok video shared their experiences with their dogs when they were pregnant.
One said: “My Chihuahua was the same way. She would actually sit on my belly and try and hatch my baby.”
