‘Friends’ 30th Anniversary: Max Pays Tribute With Fan-Favorite Episodes, Featurettes & More


Beginning today, Max is rolling out an expansive global campaign to honor Friends‘ 30th anniversary, featuring fan-favorite episodes, featurettes, in-app surprises and more. 

As part of the anniversary celebration, Max viewers will see updated 30th anniversary key art throughout the app and a new design for the Friends collection page. New themed rails with handpicked episodes will be available including “Chandler Bing, the King of One-Liners (Best of Chandler)’,  “How YOU Doin’? (Best of Joey)”, “We Were On A Break (Ross and Rachel Highlights)”,  “On Monica’s Menu (Best of Monica)”,  “Friendsgiving (Thanksgiving Episodes)”,  “Phoebe Buffay, AKA Regina Phalange (Best of Phoebe)”, among others.

In an effort to enhance the viewing experience, Max Ultimate Ad-Free subscribers will be able to watch their favorite Friends episodes in 4K UHD with Dolby Vision and HDR10 on supported devices.

Max’s Friends collection page also includes bonus content with featurettes, including Friends From The Start, where the creative team discusses the development and casting of Friends while reflecting on the challenges that arose during the early years; When Friends Became Family, which delves into the inspiration and development of some of the most iconic episodes and favorite moments from Friends.; and The Legacy of Friends, in which the creative team discusses bringing Friends to an end and reflects on the pop culture influence and lasting legacy of the series.  

Created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman, Friends aired for 10 seasons on NBC from 1994 to 2004. Starring Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer, the show revolves around the six friends in their 20s and early 30s who live in Manhattan. The show was nominated for 62 Primetime Emmy Awards over its 10-season run, winning the Outstanding Comedy Series award in 2002 for its eighth season.
