Jenna Ortega seems to be taking inspiration from Margot Robbie’s “Barbie” press tour by wearing outfits inspired by “Beetlejuice” as she promotes its sequel.

Ortega stars in “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” as Astrid Deetz, the daughter of the first movie’s protagonist, Lydia Deetz (Winona Ryder). She goes on an adventure in the underworld with the help of the trickster Betelgeuse (Michael Keaton).

This week, Ortega has been method dressing at the Venice Film Festival. Method dressing is when an actor wears outfits inspired by the film they are promoting, in a bid to create buzz around the movie.

Ortega is the latest star to join the trend after Margot Robbie dressed up as iconic Barbie dolls throughout the “Barbie” press tour, and Zendaya used method dressing to promote her recent films, “Dune 2” and “Challengers.”

On Thursday, Ortega walked the London premiere of “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” in a custom teal green dress by British-American fashion designer Harris Reed. The dress’ colors seemed to be inspired by Delia’s (Catherine O’Hara) sculptures in the first film.

The look was completed with an Ozais custom handbag that resembled the miniature house model at the beginning of “Beetlejuice.”

Earlier the same day, Ortega attended a photocall for “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” in London. Her outfit seemed to be inspired by the wedding suit Betelgeuse wears during the film’s climax when he attempts to marry Lydia.

When Betelgeuse attempts to marry Lydia, he magically puts her into a red wedding dress. The dress appeared to be inspiration for Ortega’s red-carpet outfit for Wednesday’s Venice Film Festival premiere of “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.”

People reported that Ortega wore a sheer red two-piece Dior Haute Couture dress.

Ortega’s also dressed like Betelgeuse at a photocall at the Venice Film Festival.

Earlier on Wednesday, Ortega attended a photocall for the sequel. At the event, she wore a custom Paul Smith suit in the same burgundy red color as Betegeuse’s wedding outfit at the end of the first film.

Catherine O’Hara‘s Petar Petrov Heat Wave blouse referenced Betegeuse’s iconic pinstriped white and black suit. O’Hara plays Lydia’s mom, Delia, in both “Beetlejuice” movies.

Ryder‘s dress appears to channel her character, Lydia, who wore black for most of the first film.

On Tuesday, Ortega was photographed arriving in an outfit similar to Adam’s (Alec Baldwin) clothing in the first movie. Adam was a ghost who Lydia befriended.

During Ortega’s appearance on the “Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon” on August 21, the “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” star wore a long-sleeved corset and a black skirt with chains that went across her body.

The black-and-white look is in keeping with Betelgeuse’s pinstriped suit, and the main colors used for most outfits in the first film.

On August 18, Ortega was spotted in another white and black outfit in New York City’s Midtown.

On August 19, Ortega wore a carbon copy of Lydia’s last outfit, her school uniform, from “Beetlejuice.”

Ortega wore a navy Thom Browne cardigan with a custom gold emblem that imitated Lydia’s school badge. Underneath, Ortega wore a green plaid skirt and cropped white oxford shirt.

To complete the look, Ortega had a custom-made Ozais bag that reads “handbag for the recently deceased” to imitate the book “handbook for the recently deceased” from the first film. The handbook helped Adam and his wife, Barbara, process their new lives as ghosts.

On August 17 and 18, Ortega was spotted wearing pinstriped suits as she began promoting “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” in New York. The suits could be a nod to Betelgeuse’s black-and-white suit, or Delia’s pinstriped shirt at the end of the movie.

Enrique Melendez, Ortega’s stylist, said the suit pictured left above picture was made by Dolce & Gabbana.

Ortega’s “Beetlejuice” press tour began in Mexico, where she attended a black carpet fan event and a press day.

On August 16, Melendez shared a video on Instagram of Ortega’s press day outfit, a Marc Jacobs runway outfit that looked just like Betelgeuse’s pinstriped suit.

At the fan event, Ortega wore a custom Lurline teal green corset and matching skirt.

Melendez said on Instagram that the face in the middle of the corset was a tribute to the shrunken head from the “Beetlejuice” poster and Bob, a new shrunken head character in the sequel.
