Vice President Kamala Harris is seeking a new employee to strategize her social media platforms, according to a recent job posting on Daybook by the Biden-Harris campaign.

The job, which is based in Wilmington, Delaware, involves helping to “further develop and expand” the vice president’s campaign voice online. The Tuesday posting comes less than a week after President Joe Biden gave a shaky debate performance against Donald Trump during the first presidential debate of the race.

Biden’s performance, which has raised concerns about the president’s mental acuity and fitness for another term, has led some Democrats to ask whether he should be replaced on the ballot before November. The Biden-Harris campaign has repeatedly said the president is not dropping out.

Despite these assurances, some have suggested that Harris, who is again slated to be Biden’s running mate, could join other top Democrats as a candidate to replace Biden as the Democratic nominee. Other names that have been floated are California Governor Gavin Newsom, former first lady Michelle Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

The posting on Daybook, a job search site for political and nonprofit positions, reads: “The VP Social Media Platforms Strategist will report to the VP Digital Director and be expected to write within an established organizational identity for multiple social media platforms and channels, while strategizing how to further develop and expand the Vice President’s and Biden-Harris campaign’s voice online.”

The job’s responsibilities include writing daily content for the campaign’s X (formerly Twitter), Threads, Facebook and Instagram accounts. Candidates should be able to “help the VP Digital Director report on audience growth, content performance, and engagement that can adapt to and meet the needs of stakeholders across the DNC and manage daily outbound report,” the job description said.

The salary range is listed at $65,000 to $85,000 a year. Other requirements include having an “eagle eye for typos” and “strong writing skills.”

Newsweek reached out to the Biden-Harris campaign by email for comment.

A Data for Progress flash poll, conducted last Friday, found that Harris was the most popular choice to replace Biden. The poll surveyed 1,011 U.S. likely voters, including 387 Democratic likely voters, and has a margin of error of 3 percentage points.

However, polling averages suggest that Harris has an even bigger disadvantage than the president if she were to run against Trump.

The vice president is not among those questioning if Biden should stay in the race. She has repeatedly stated her support for Biden’s continued candidacy.
