A Look Ahead at Autumn’s Big Books

Subscribe: Apple Podcasts | Spotify | How to Listen

This weekend marks the official start of autumn — the equinox is on Sunday — so what better time to take a peek at the fall books we’re most excited to read? On this week’s episode, Gilbert Cruz chats with his colleagues Joumana Khatib and Anna Dubenko about the upcoming season of reading and the books on the horizon that they’re looking forward to most eagerly. They also discuss the proper way to pronounce “atoll.”

“Someone told me that if there are certain words that you only know because you’ve seen them written, it’s a sign of great intelligence because you’ve read more than you’ve heard,” Dubenko says. “I’m choosing to believe it.”
