Four-Time All-Star Announces Retirement From MLB

Charlie Blackmon was, at his peak, one of baseball’s most feared leadoff hitters. He took advantage of Coors Field’s unique hitting environment to drive in 104 runs from the leadoff spot in 2017 — a feat rarely accomplished by even the best leadoff men of all-time.

Monday, the longtime Colorado Rockies outfielder announced his retirement from baseball.

The 38-year-old outfielder has a .292 batting average, .352 on-base percentage and .479 slugging percentage in his career.

However, those numbers dipped to .249/.320/.398 in this, his 14th major league season.
