Luminate Streaming Ratings: ‘The Perfect Couple’ and ‘Rebel Ridge’ Stay on Top September 13-19


Like the week before, Luminate measured “The Perfect Couple” and “Rebel Ridge” as the No. 1 most-watched streaming original series and film, respectively, in the U.S. during of the week of Sept. 13-19.

“The Perfect Couple” hit 1.8 billion minutes watched during its second full week of availability on Netflix, down from a massive debut of 3.4 billion minutes watched the week before. “Emily in Paris” Season 4 took second place among TV titles and overall, edging out “Rebel Ridge’s” 842.5 million minutes watched with its own 985.7 million after the release of Part 2.

“Into the Fire: The Lost Daughter” debuted at No. 3 with 738.1 million minutes watched, while “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” took No. 4 in its second week on the chart with 537.6 million minutes watched.

Season 2 of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” landed in fifth place with 346.4 million minutes watched, down from the previous week, when it was fourth-most-watched with 372.7 million minutes. This is the season’s third full week on the chart — viewership dropped by more than 50% between its first and second week — with its sixth episode dropping on the last day of this viewing window.

Season 2 of “Tulsa King” debuted on Paramount+ on Sept. 15, and landed in sixth place with 323.2 million minutes watched in the first episode’s first five days of streaming. The release also brought about a resurgence for Season 1, which took eighth place with 239.4 million minutes watched.

The rest of the TV chart positions went to repeat titles: “Selling Sunset” (No. 7 with 296.4 million minutes watched), “Bad Monkey” (No. 9 with 236.8 million) and “Outlast” Season 2 (No. 10 with 230.6 million).

On the film chart, behind “Rebel Ridge” was “Uglies,” which took second place with 608.3 million minutes watched in its first week on Netflix. After “Uglies,” there was a steep dropoff in viewership: The No. 3 position went to Netflix’s “Officer Black Belt,” which debuted with 143.4 million minutes watched, while “The Deliverance” had its fifth week on the chart with 123.9 million minutes. All with less than 100 million minutes watched were “The Union,” “Sector 36,” “The Killer,” “Child Star,” “The Assistant 2” and “Boxer,” with “Sector 36,” “Child Star” and “Boxer” being debut titles.
