Eiza González knows good tequila; it’s why she’s taken her time and passed on partnership opportunities from countless spirits brands over the years in the hopes of one day finding a label that truly aligned with her beliefs — and palate. Enter: Casa Azul Tequila, an artisanal brand that specializes in 100 percent, USDA certified organic tequila, and González’s first venture into the space.

“I’m one of the few born and raised Mexican women that’s been able to cross over [into the spirits industry] and hopefully not the last; it’s why I really wanted to affiliate myself with a brand that honored that and represented the real tradition,” González tells PS.

Casa Azul’s emphasis is on hand-distilled and exceptionally flavorful agave creations. The actor recently joined the brand as a partner with the goal of elevating its identity in today’s competitive spirits market and shining a light on the artful process of making tequila, which González believes has generally been “watered down.”

“I wanted to start an endeavor in a space where I felt like it expanded the opportunities for Mexicans and got more eyes on what really is just a cultural side of Latin America and specifically Mexico.”

Much like González, the team at Casa Azul pours endless time and care into everything they create — right down to the tequila’s fermentation. With each batch crafted at Tequila Las Americas, Nom 1480, there’s an unprecedented level of transparency in the development process. Its farm is owned and operated by third generation agave farmers (a family business!), and according to González, Casa Azul is especially dedicated to supporting women with job opportunities; she noted that the brand “only hires” women to bottle its products.

Besides dishing on her go-to bottle of Casa Azul Tequila — which can be used to create her favorite cocktail, a Paloma Blanco — González also shared all of the other products she’s currently loving right now, from a silky eye mask to a tinted highlighter. Keep reading to shop her essentials.
