Daily update for the US Virgin Islands, Monday March 30, 2020

Governor Albert Bryan Jr. has issued a proclamation calling today a “U.S. Virgin Islands Day of Prayer, Fasting, and Reflection.”

In observance of the day, Governor Bryan directed that all business in the territory cease operations from noon to 1 p.m. today, stating that:

“Governors throughout history have called for days of fasting and prayer over the condition of their state and nation,” Bryan said in the proclamation. “We specifically need to thank God for the healthcare providers and caretakers and persons providing supporting services in our fight of the Coronavirus pandemic.”

US Virgin Islands Congressional Representative, Stacy Plaskett, reports that VI Residents will eligible to Receive $1,200 Directly as Part of $2 Trillion and the VI Government will be eligible for 75 million $75 Million.

As of 7 pm Sunday March 29, 202, the Territory has 23 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 123 testing negative and 37 tests still pending. Citizens are advised to be on the lookout for the most common symptoms, fever of 100.4 or higher, cough, and shortness of breath. If symptoms present, citizens are asked to call ahead before going to an emergency room, wear a mask if available, be prepared to discuss recent travel, and avoid contact with others.

All persons are advised to limit social interaction to the greatest extent possible and practices good handwashing in daily routines.
